Privacy Policy

Overview

Munchmark ("the App") is an iOS app developed by James Baker that lets you save, organize, and share restaurants you discover online. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes and how it is handled.

Your Data — iCloud & CloudKit

All restaurant saves, lists, and favorites are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This means:

• Your data is associated with your iCloud account and protected by Apple's security infrastructure
• Data syncs across your Apple devices through iCloud
• We (the developer) have no access to your saved restaurants or lists
• Shared lists are shared directly between iCloud users — no data passes through our servers
• Deleting the app removes its CloudKit container from your account

Apple's privacy practices for CloudKit and iCloud are described in the Apple Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services

To identify restaurants and enrich your saves with ratings and details, the App communicates with the following third-party services:

• Groq API: When you share a URL, it is sent to Groq's API to determine whether it references a restaurant and extract the name and location. Groq's privacy policy is available at groq.com/privacy-policy.
• Yelp Fusion API: The restaurant name and location are sent to Yelp's API to retrieve ratings, address, price range, phone number, and other details. Yelp's privacy policy is available at yelp.com/tos/privacy.

These requests contain only the URL or restaurant name/city you are saving — no personal information, account identifiers, or device IDs are included in these requests.

Advertising

The App displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device advertising identifiers and other signals to serve contextual or personalized ads. You can limit ad tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising on your device. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Data We Do NOT Collect

The developer does not collect or store any of the following:

• Your name, email address, or any account credentials
• Your location or GPS data
• Device identifiers or IP addresses
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioral tracking
• The contents of your restaurant saves or lists

Clipboard Access

The App monitors the clipboard for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook URLs so it can prompt you to save them. Clipboard content is processed locally on your device. No clipboard data is transmitted anywhere unless you choose to save the URL — at which point only the URL itself is sent to Groq and Yelp as described above.

Share Extension

The App includes an iOS Share Extension that lets you share URLs from any app directly to Munchmark. URLs shared via the extension are stored temporarily in a shared App Group on your device and processed by the App the next time it opens. No extension data is transmitted to external servers other than the URL itself (sent to Groq and Yelp as described above).

Children's Privacy

Munchmark is not directed at children under the age of 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
