Your files and credentials stay between your device and your server. SFTP Files connects directly over SSH — encrypted end to end — and your file names, contents, passwords, and keys never pass through us or any cloud service.
The servers you add (address, port, username, and options) are stored only on your device. Your passwords, private keys, and key passphrases are stored in the device Keychain, protected by the operating system, and are used solely to sign in to the servers you configured. We never receive, store, or have access to any of them.
Everything the app sends travels inside an encrypted SSH connection directly between your device and your server. We operate no servers that see your data, and there is no account system.
Files you browse, download, upload, rename, or delete move directly between your device and your SFTP server. Files you preview are cached temporarily on your device so reopening them is fast; nothing in the cache is ever uploaded to us. On Mac, files you access through the Finder drive are synced by the system's File Provider directly with your server.
Commands you run in the built-in console execute on your server over the same encrypted SSH connection. Command text and output stay between your device and your server.
SFTP Files is free and supported by ads provided through Google AdMob on iOS. To show ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and use:
On first launch we ask for your consent (via Google's consent form and Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt) before any personalized ads are shown. You can change tracking permission anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
To understand which features are useful (for example, how often the console or Finder mounting is used), the iOS app collects anonymous feature-usage events through Google Firebase Analytics — things like "a connection succeeded using key authentication" or "a file was uploaded". These events never include your server addresses, usernames, file names, file contents, commands, or credentials. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
The optional one-time SFTP Files Pro purchase removes all ads. Purchases are processed by Apple; we do not receive or store your payment information.
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, or browsing history. We do not log your servers, credentials, files, or commands, and we operate no servers that receive your data.
SFTP Files is rated 4+ and is not directed at children. It is a utility for accessing your own servers.
